The Golf Simulator Market in 2026: What Changed and Where It's Heading
The home golf simulator market grew 400% since 2020. Here is what drove that growth and what the market looks like heading into 2026.
The home golf simulator market looked completely different five years ago. In 2020, the market was dominated by a handful of commercial brands, and home setups were either cheap infrared-based systems like the OptiShot or extremely expensive professional units costing $20,000 and up.
COVID changed everything. Golf ranges closed. Courses restricted access. Golfers who had been meaning to set up a home practice space finally did it. Brands that had been slowly growing their home products suddenly faced demand they were not prepared for.
Garmin released the Approach R10 in 2021, which was the tipping point. A $599 photometric launch monitor with GSPro and E6 Connect integration meant that any golfer could start a legitimate home simulator setup for under $2,000 total. The floodgates opened.
By 2023, every major launch monitor brand had a consumer product. FlightScope brought the Mevo+ into mainstream awareness. Bushnell launched the Launch Pro, essentially putting the $6,999 Foresight GC3 into a consumer package at $3,000. Uneekor captured the overhead mount niche.
The software side grew just as fast. GSPro went from a small community project to the most-discussed simulator platform. E6 Connect expanded its course library and monitor compatibility list. TGC2019, which had been the default for years, started showing its age as newer platforms caught up.
Heading into 2026, the market has matured. The frantic launch of new monitors has slowed. The focus has shifted to software, accuracy improvements, and accessories. The golfer who bought a Garmin R10 in 2021 is now looking at a Bushnell Launch Pro upgrade. The golfer who built a basic enclosure is now looking at a premium permanent room.
The addressable market for home golf simulators in the US is estimated at 5-8 million households. Less than 1% currently own a setup. The growth curve has a long way to run.
